Vocabulary Lesson For Head Verbs – Pre-Intermediate

Thirty images of head verbs such as yawn, blink, nod, shake, blow, sneeze, frown, poke, and brush.

Ideal for beginners or pre-intermediate to learn new and useful vocabulary.

In the production stage of the lesson, have students practice the new vocabulary with a mime game, imitating the words they have learned for the others to guess.

By linking vocabulary with action, this activity helps learners learn new words naturally while enjoying a dynamic, student-centered lesson.

This is always an enjoyable lesson with very little preparation needed.

A Fun Running Dictation Lesson For Intermediate Students

This running dictation for intermediate students is a pair work activity that involves some physical exercise.

The exercise helps improve grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.

Cut up the worksheet and tape half of each set outside the classroom.

The students have to run out to read the worksheet, and then run back to their partner to dictate as much as they can remember.

When the first students have finished, tape the second half outside for the other student in the pair.

It’s a lot of fun in a group class as a race, with students running in and out and bumping into each other.
