I wrote and recorded these songs in Jerusalem in 2001 during the second Intifada. I was struck by the ever present contrasts which are rarely or never seen on our filtered TV news. The beauty and bravery of the women of Israel and the West Bank (Palestine) astonished me. Their ever present fear and anxiety saddened me to my core.

Other aspects of Jerusalem and its population surprised and amazed me while others mystified me. But there was never a day without learning.

I still hold out hope that one day soon, people with courage and determination will stop the violence, and allow these wonderful men, women and children to live in peace again.
